I could climb atop quite a political soapbox right now … But I will only say this:

"Thank you, President Obama, for keeping your word the very week you were inaugurated. A close friend credits a prescription-related change you made first-thing for helping her afford to keep her seriously ill husband alive. This medical cost reduction also was instrumental in helping my friend avoid bankruptcy."

My friends were once a two-Beamer couple with a sprawling home, thanks to two great incomes. But he now needs a new heart and can no longer work; she’s been downsized from jobs more times than I can count. Since Obama took office, things have actually been a bit better for them. Mostly because she can now afford to buy his oxygen tanks plus pay rent and buy food.

We don’t hear these kinds of real-life anecdotes in the news. There must be tens of thousands of people whose lives or livelihoods already have been positively impacted by our new president. But the vocal minority drowns out these important voices.

Even the liberal news media does the Obama administration a disservice by disproportionately covering the angry town halls, fear-mongerers, and gun-toters.

Many people know the good things Mr. Obama already has done. Here’s to his courage to keep this kind of good stuff coming. This is what keeps America strong, a nationwide family where every member is able and eager to contribute and help fend off all threats.

Trying To Impeach Obama In 2013

Unlovely Laurel, Maryland Friday October 11, 2013. Here’s some of our fellow citizens exercising their First Amendment Rights by prancing about on the Gorman Road bridge over Interstate 95. In a close up you can see that the individual on the right is covering his face with his hand. Why? A surprising number of motorists honked as they passed the banners although the evening rush hour traffic was much lighter than normal due to the ongoing partial government shutdown caused by extremist Republican gangsters in Congress.

Tea baggers, assault weapon fetishists and other far right wing crackpots brandishing signs and flags show up with some frequency at this spot. Today’s gathering here (there were similar overpass impeachment events across the USA…) was likely being staged in support of a rolling DC Beltway blockade by neo-facist militia influenced truckers and other actions by "Confederate heritage" goons, all united in advocating for the impeachment (or abdication by force…) of the "muslim president". Those events, widely promoted in disreputable corners of the internet, largely fizzled out. The trucker blockade was quickly dispersed by highway police and the ‘johhny rebs’ did little more than wave the Confederate flag in front of the White House and at the WWII Memorial on the National Mall. This time.

I empathize somewhat with the truckers. They’ve always gotten a raw deal and like most of us working folks have almost no friends in high places (certainly not our Disappointer In Chief Barack Obama and his crew…) but they’ve chosen the wrong target and the wrong solution if they want to make their lives better.

I stopped on the highway shoulder and got out of my Dodge to get the shot you see on this page; I don’t recommend that you try this. My parked car was almost hit by an Escalade roaring down the shoulder as it exited from the nearby rest stop.

Basically they force you to buy their healthcare. It really isn’t even universal healthcare. It is a way for big medical companies to line their pockets.

Gravis Marketing Telephone Survey US Senate Kentucky General Election and Republican Primary Phone Survey

Winter Springs, FL (PRWEB) April 26, 2014

Human Events and Gravis Marketing conducted a random telephone survey by automated phone calls to landline phone numbers of 1,359 registered Kentucky voters regarding current events, including potential presidential and senate candidates between April 15-17-2014 The poll carries a margin of error of ± 3%.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has been viewed as a threatened incumbent by elements in his own party who feel has lost his Conservative credibility by compromising too much in the Democratic controlled Senate and by a bona fide Democratic challenger in Kentucky Secretary of State Allison Lundergan-Grimes. Polling data indicates that in a prospective race against the Democrat McConnell enjoys a 7-point advantage over Grimes-Lundergan and an even more significant advantage over Republican primary challenger Matt Bevins (51% to 34%).

Highlights of the poll include:

Republican voters were asked, “If the Republican primary were held today, would you vote for Matt Bevin or Mitch McConnell?” Senator McConnell holes a significant advantage over Republican primary challenger Matt Bevin by 51% to 34% margin with 15% indicating uncertainty.

Voters of all parties were polled, “If the race for election for US Senate were held today, would you vote for Republican Mitch McConnell, Democrat Alison Lundergan-Grimes, or Independent Ed Marksberry?” Senator McConnell maintained a seven-point lead over prospective Democratic opponent Allison Lundergan-Grimes. 43% to 36% with 12% reporting they were uncertain.

When looking at these data along party affiliation as expected Lundergan-Grimes’ support was largely among Democrats (70.4%) with 28.2% of support among Independents. Senator McConnell enjoyed 64.8% of support from Republican voters with a larger Independent support bases than Grimes-Lundergan at 35.6%.

When asked about a prospective general election with Matt Bevin running on the Republican ticket instead of Senator McConnell, Lundergan-Grimes gains an advantage in the race at 37% to 32% with 25% reporting uncertainty.

When asked, “Is Senator McConnell as conservative today as he was when he first ran for the Senate?” Among voters of all parties 37% indicated that Senator McConnell was not as conservative with 32% stating uncertainty and 32% indicating that he had maintained his conservative values.

When all voters were asked, “Has Senator McConnell done enough to end Obamacare?” 46% indicated that he was not done enough, 29% stated he had opposed the law sufficiently while 25% were uncertain.

58% Of Seniors Worried Their Health Plan Could Be Cancelled – According To New Poll By The Senior Citizens League

Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) March 20, 2014

One of the most politically incendiary issues of last fall’s Obamacare launch may turn into a major issue with senior voters in 2014, says The Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a nonpartisan seniors organization. According to a new poll released today by TSCL, 58 percent of seniors, including those over the age of 65, say that they are worried that their health plan could be cancelled to meet new Obamacare requirements, versus 42 percent who said they aren’t.

Most of TSCL’s members and supporters are seniors 65 and older with Medicare coverage. The poll, which was conducted late January to mid February, was designed to test seniors’ perceptions about the confusing new health law. It did not distinguish between seniors 65 and over who are covered by Medicare, and seniors under the age of 65 who are now required to have health insurance under the new healthcare law. The poll simply asked, “Are you worried that your health plan could be cancelled to meet new Obamacare requirements?”

“Clearly, older seniors with Medicare perceive themselves as affected by Obamacare,” states TSCL Chairman, Ed Cates. “That’s important for Members of Congress to understand, since public perception of issues decides elections,” he notes. “It would be a mistake to underestimate the concerns that Medicare – eligible seniors have about Obamacare, even though these individuals are not mandated by law to purchase a plan on the new federal health exchange,” he observes.

TSCL points out that older seniors have different Obamacare worries than those of seniors under the age of 65. “The 2015 rates for Medicare Advantage plans have yet to be announced, but seniors 65 and over are already worried that they could be affected by successive funding cuts made to plans under the new health law,” notes Cates.

The TSCL poll was conducted just prior to the Obama Administration’s recent announcement that healthcare consumers may be able to renew older insurance plans that don’t meet the health law’s benefit requirements for another two years — if their states allow it. “TSCL believes the new rule is important to protect individual policy holders from further disruption, but we remain concerned that the rule alone may not go far enough,” says Cates. “Another round of older plan cancellation notices would be due to go out just prior to election day, and that could be a determining factor for voters,” he adds.

Explanation of Obamacare?

Question by Say: Explanation of Obamacare?
Can someone please give me an UNBIASED explanation of Obamacare and why it is so polarizing.

Best answer:

Answer by Sarah
Obamacare is a law by which all Americans have access to health insurance, through their employer, through Medicare, the VA, or Medicaid, or through the individual private insurer of their choice. It is an attempt at insuring every American and at lowering costs. Republican leaders have supported this exact plan, and numerous other similar plans for many decades. Suddenly, however, they staunchly oppose it because a democrat is offering it. Liberals have largely supported universal healthcare for many years. Obamacare is not universal healthcare and, thus, many liberals are unhappy that Obamacare was passed.

Q&A: Advantages and disadvantages of obamacare?

obamacare advantages
by SS&SS

Question by TheKnowItAlllll: Advantages and disadvantages of obamacare?
Please explain this so i can actually understand it! The internet is too detailed and complicated to understand

Also if Romney wins, how would his health care be like?

Best answer:

Answer by Icoulator
Advantage: A government health care bureaucrat will take the decision-making out of your health care issues.

Disadvantage: Unless you are a member of Congress, you will be paying more for less medical care. The federal government has a 100% failure rate with operating any major program. All of which come in at seriously under-performing and excessively over-budget. Obamacare will not be an exception to this rule.

Obamacare is estimated to require at least 33,000 new federal employees. With some estimates as high as 47,000. These individuals will be health care regulators, insurance adjusters, IRS investigators and compliance officers, …
Number of new Physicians created by Obamacare: 0.
Number of Nurses: 0.
Number of Nurse Practicioners:0.
Number of Physical Therapists:0.
Number of Physician Assistants: 0.

Additional initial costs to the federal debt: more than 2.7 trillion. Because all of this funding will need to be borrowed.

The Independent Payment Advisory Board, established by Omanacare, will say which procedures are “cost effective”: Meaning which will be available. Also, which procedures are not cost effective. Meaning they will not be made available to the patient. Expect to wait for months or years for procedures which are rationed. For example, the wait for a hip or knee replacement in Canada is now well over a year.
