YouTube is opening another of its studio “Spaces” in New York to help its community of video makers learn, collaborate and create new content. The facility follows similar setups in London, Los Angeles and Tokyo, which give aspiring filmers and internet personalities, which are attributable to much of YouTube’s success, access to equipment and industry experts. The HTC Butterfly 2 is a 5-inch, mid-range phone that goes on sale in Asia next month

HTC has announced the Butterfly 2, a new 5-inch smartphone in its Butterfly range that will go on sale across Asia from next month. Powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, the device sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. There’s also a five-megapixel front-facing camera which HTC says will let users take “beautiful selfies with ease.” There’s plenty of focus on audio, as we’ve come to expect from HTC. The Butterfly 2 comes with the company’s BoomSound technology — in fact, HTC says the phone’s sound system is 25 percent louder than the HTC One thanks to a revamped speaker layout….

After announcing its iOS in the Car initiative at last year’s WWDC, Apple is expected to launch the program next week with partners Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, according to a Financial Times report.

When it arrives, iOS in the Car will integrate Apple’s mobile OS with the in-dash displays and controls of supported vehicles, opening up access to Siri, iMessage, iTunes and Maps.

In addition to the aforementioned auto makers, Apple has also signed partnerships with companies like Chevrolet, Honda, Jaguar and Nissan.

LG’s curved G Flex smartphone is landing in Europe next month

LG G Flex 21 730x434 LGs curved G Flex smartphone is landing in Europe next monthLG will launch its curved G Flex Android smartphone in Europe next month, the Korean company announced today.

This means consumers in major European markets including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Sweden and Austria, among others, will be able to get their hands on the smartphone, which comes with a vertical curve and a “self-healing” cover capable of covering over minor scratches, as well as a rear-mounted set of power and volume buttons.

It was already revealed in December that mobile operator EE will be carrying the G Flex in the UK next February, but we will have to wait and see on other carrier options, as well as the specifics of price and availability.

So far, LG has already released the G Flex in Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore – where it retails for S$ 1,088 ($ 870). It’ll be hitting India “soon” and will be launched in the US on Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile some time this quarter.
